Time Keeps On Slippin' Into the Future

August is here!!??!! That's more than half the year gone already😼

Of course, I “shouldn’t” be surprised. The only thing that is constant is change. And that includes that forward progression of time.

You know what I mean 🙂

The seasons will change, and that thing you had planned to do this summer turns into next summer. The someday trip for yourself or the epic retreat with your tribe continues to exist only in your mind, rather than on a map and in your calendar.

If you haven’t already done so, it’s time to plan for your Fall or Winter Break.

Sure, you may not have your Halloween costume planned, but if you were “thinking about” taking some kind of holiday trip this year, it will feel so satisfying to close that thought loop and make it a circle around a date on the calendar: DEPARTURE!

Depending on where you are, both on your own timeline and in your own headspace, this next break may look completely different than any one you’ve taken before. Which may be the same or different than everyone else's.

And all of that is just fine! (Like I say in my yoga classes, "Comparison is the thief of joy...)

As a travel agent, I see the appeal of common holiday trips: NYC for Rockefeller Center and the Radio City Christmas Spectacular with the Rockettes, or the European Christmas Markets in Germany, Austria, and France. We have a collective memory or feeling about such things, and it feels good to share what unites us.

But some people may opt for something completely different to connect with their people. Something off the beaten tinsel-covered or sandy beaches paths

Instead of the Caribbean, some travel to Costa Rica. I especially love the yoga retreat options there, but next time I will go zip-lining through the cloud forests and soak in some natural hot springs.

Or maybe you could head to Portugal! The mild winters make the Algarve and Douro Valley perfect for hiking, wine tastings, and spa days. And the prices are off-peak– win-win!

What has been your favorite fall or winter trip?

What would you like to do differently next time?

I would love to help you discover and travel to your next adventure. Sign up here to get the conversation started.
